I have found that people in the Bible did not struggle with this feeling like Jehovhas witnesses do. Moses had feelings of not being good enough, yet God told him that he was good enough with God's help. The feelings of never being good enough come from the Watchtower and other men organizations, not God. He is always there to tell us that we are good enough when Jesus Christ's sacrifice is applied to us.

You're Never Good Enough
by Ding ini've talked with a number of jws who have commented that they feel like failures -- that they're never good enough.. if that resonates with someone reading this post, please realize that you are by no means the only one who feels like that.. in fact, the whole wt system depends on keeping jws feeling that way.
the gb wants you to feel that way.. think about it.
you are always reading or hearing about someone who puts in an extraordinary number of hours in field service or someone who goes out more than you do despite having twice as many challenges and responsibilities.

Really??????? And your ok with that idea?
The idea that sin exists? Yeah, I am. I view murder as a sin. As I am sure most people do (Christian, Atheist, or otherwise). These are negative traights.
I re-read what I wrote and I was not trying to mix homosexuality in with these other "sins". In fact I was trying to say that most people that are gay were born that way and they have a reason for their actions.

It sort of annoys me that they aren't making any movies like this about JWs directly. They are 100 times more dangerous than the Amish. This movie shows the same sort of effects. But I wish people would be made more aware of THIS dangerous organization and what it is doing to people's lives. Also, how they are coming to YOUR door and taking YOU away from your family. The Amish stay put and don't actively seek out new memberes, putting them in the potential position of losing their families and friends.

Jesus was very accepting of everyone. He was not racist. He was sent to help God's chosen people (the Jews) first. He himself said that there were other sheep that would come in. After leaving the Watchtower you will learn that he was not speaking of another "class" of people (i.e people that would live on earth), but he was talking about the gentiles that would be accepted in as God's chosen people.
As far as homosexuality, I have seen the bible speak against it. But it also speaks against lying, theft, anger at brothers, etc... They are all sins, and many of them are sins that we practice everyday. So to single out homosexuals and say that they are worse than any of us, is wrong.Look at how Jesus treated the woman caught in adultry and was about to be stoned by the religious leaders of that time. (John 8:1-11). He said that he who was sinless was to cast the first stone. So we are not to cast stones at those that are gay either. And in my opinion, their sin may be far less sinfull than many of ours. Many are born the way that they are and while the Bible does not say anything about this, I truly believe that God takes that into account and is forgiving.

There is no true church except Jesus
by maccauk11 inmay i suggest an article www.bethelministries.com and look for the article denominationism_there isbutonetruechurch.
i dont belong to this ministry it helps us see that there is no church or organisation on earth .
the true church is jesus and his followers who worship him in spirit and truth and do not belong to any man made church.

In my opinion, Christianity and denominationalism are 2 very different things.

The "patibulum" : a fragile theory !
by TheFrench inthe latin fathers of the church has never described jesus carrying a "patibulum".
indeed, the early christians to represent jesus carrying the "crux", not the "patibulum".
it's a fact.

People like James Woods will say "No one was there" but at the same time have no issue in believing in other parts of history and science. Archeology has found remnants of crosses used to by the Romans to kill Christians. The proof is there. They have found carvings and other images carved into the catacomb walls that prove that early Christians believed that Jesus was killed on a cross.
Beyond that, I don't think James Woods would have a problem arguing the facts of early humans that painted pictures of nature inside caves. He wouldn't say "No one was there". It's a type of mental block that was common while he was a JW, and it is a mental block that many atheists put up now.
That being said, I do understand that I have certain "mental blocks" that I put up too when it comes to atheism. It's a double edged sword. My mental block is called faith. I'm not sure what an atheist would call it. Or what they would call their own. And to try and argue that you (as in everyone) don't have one would be a lie.

There seems to be a lot of arm chair scholars here. But history does show that the Romans executed people, including Christians on crosses. Yes some crosses did not look like what we view as the cross today. Some were shaped in the shape of an "X" and others looked like an upper case "T". However, as far as I can see, all indications show that Jesus was exectued on a cross with a cross beam. For one thing, the bible speaks of multiple nails being used in Jesus hands, which would not be the case if he was nailed to an upright stake. John 20:25. It also speaks about the arms being stretched out, not upwards which would be the case if Jesus was nailed to a stake without a crossbeam. John 21:18-19
It was already brought out, but Leolaia showed that the comment by French was wrong in that the early church fathers DID speak of Jesus being nailed to a cross with a patibulum. Tertullian did KNOW what he was talking about when he used the word "patibulum". In Apologeticus 3/23/6 he says that the Greek letter "T" (or TAU) had the appearance of the cross that Jesus was hung on.
Also, PSacramento brought up a good point about the weight of the cross. There was also a study done, if memory serves correctly, that shows that Jesus wouldn't have been able to survive as long as he did with his arms straight up because he would've suffocated too quickly. Or maybe i got that backwards.
This site gives a good account of how the JW claim of Jesus being hung on a stake MUST be false.

The Great Watchtower Internet Retreat
by DT inthere has been a lot of talk about the new watchtower internet strategy.
it appears that the watchtower is trying to improve their internet presence.
this could be true, but i think there are good reasons to think that the opposite might be the case.. i suspect that this new internet announcement was primarily designed to draw attention away from the announcement that they are cutting down on the printing of the magazines again.. they are basically dropping two of their websites and redesigning a website on a url that has the lowest rating of the three.

I posted this on the thread with the actual letter. I totally agree with you DT. Here was my other post:
I think this is a great thing for 2 very specific reasons. Consolidating their sites into 1 large site will have the effect of lowering their online presence. Also, most people doing personal research use the internet heavily. For example, if I wanted to know the basics of how a doctor performs a face transplant, I will probably not make a day out of it by going to the library and checking out books to get a completely comprehensive idea of how it's done. Most likely I will go on a site like howstuffworks.com and find out the basics. The same would be true of researching JWs. Most people will research them on the interent.
The benefit of them consolidating the info to 1 site is this. Most people do not only look at 1 single site when they are researching. They will browse a few sites or more. In the past it may have been possible for someone to go to watchtower.org first and look around. Then maybe head over to jw-media.org and then finally jw.org. Now with 1 site, they will be forced to look at other non-jw sites. Perhaps now they will stumble onto jwfacts.com or freeminds.org, or carm.org/jehovah'switnesses, or even 4jehovah.org.
I see only good things coming out of this. Smaller WTs. Less internet presence (parousia... :-) ). More opportunities for those ignorant of WT schemes to arm themselves. This is great news!

Just to state the obvious that the covenent of the respecting of blood was only given to man. I don't agree with WT policy either. But just sayin...it's a little silly.
